Most newer vehicles also have some kind of forward-facing camera as a safety feature. This will need to be recalibrated if a repair is carried out, making it essential that you only allow a qualified professional to carry out such work.

You should also beware of anyone who says they can repair a crack that's longer than 6 inches. While it might look okay to start with, the structure of the windshield has been damaged and the result is likely to be unsatisfactory.
