Vehicle Service Warranty in Florida

Vehicle Service Warranty in Florida

Getting your car serviced or repaired represents a significant proportion of the ongoing vehicle running costs. Outside of what you pay for fuel, the most money you’re likely to spend on your ride each year will be on maintenance and servicing.

However—be warned… Not all servicing and maintenance services are made equal.

You’re probably well aware that the price of vehicle care can vary wildly, as well as the quality of the technicians who work on the car. But there’s one very important aspect that’s often overlooked—and that’s the warranty on the work carried out and the parts that are fitted.

Vehicle Service Warranty: In Florida & Elsewhere, the Differences can be Huge

  • What is a vehicle service warranty?
  • Understanding the different warranties on offer

What is a vehicle service warranty?

In short, a vehicle service warranty provides a guarantee that any parts or work carried out on your vehicle will be covered for a specified period. This means that, should there be a fault further down the line, you’ll be able to return the vehicle to the car shop to be repaired.

If you’ve broken down because of the problem, some warranties will include the recovery of your vehicle as well. Others might require you to use the services of roadside assistance and/or breakdown cover to transport the vehicle back to them. Some will also pay for the cost of the repair at a third-party provider.

Understanding the different warranties on offer

Warranties of all kinds can be notoriously difficult to understand. A good vehicle service warranty is designed to be transparent. One of the most common warranties you’ll come across is the mileage/time period one.

For instance, you have a new part installed and you’re told that the warranty will cover you for 36,000 miles or three years, whichever comes first.

What this means in practical terms is this:

If you cover high mileage and drive, for example, 36,000 miles in the first two years, then—once you exceed the stated mileage—your warranty will expire. So, in essence, the guarantee has only lasted two years. On the other hand, if you barely use the vehicle and only cover, say 4,000 miles per year, the warranty will still become invalid after three years. Even though you’ve only covered 12,000 miles (nowhere near that 36,000 that the warranty mentions), it still only holds for the three years.

You’ll also find that all warranties have a list of what isn’t covered. You can typically expect this to include:

  • Any repair amount that’s above that of the original repair or part cost.
  • The tires
  • The car paintwork
  • Any preventative maintenance services
  • Anything that comes under the banner of “normal wear and tear”

While it’s common for customers not to delve into the whys and wherefores of a vehicle service warranty, it makes sense to ask questions as to exactly what is and isn’t covered. That way, you won’t receive a nasty surprise should anything go wrong in the future.

Get the Ultimate Vehicle Service Warranty in Florida at Autobahn of Boca

We’re committed to providing the very best service and maintenance to our customers—and that includes the warranty.

For us, that three years or 36,000-mile figure doesn’t end when the first limit is breached. With an Autobahn of Boca vehicle service or repair, the warranty only expires when the last element does. So… if, for example, you hit 36,000 miles in year two, your warranty won’t run out until the end of the third year.

Conversely… After three years, if you’ve not hit 36,000 miles, your warranty will remain valid through the fourth year as well, or until you exceed this distance. (There are some exceptions that are detailed in our Ts & Cs).

This is pretty unique within the industry—and just one more reason that our repeat customer base is so high.
